Asbestos Training
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 Regulation 10 states: ‘Asbestos awareness training is for those persons who are liable to disturb asbestos whilst carrying out their normal everyday work, or who may influence how work is carried out such as : general maintenance staff, electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, painters and decorators, joiners and plasterers, demolition workers, construction workers, roofers, heating engineers, fire and burglar alarm installers, computer installers, shop fitters, architects, building surveyors and other such professionals.
Modules covered are:
The properties of asbestos and it’s effects on health.
The types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and ACMs in buildings and plant.
The general procedures to be followed to deal with an emergency, for example an
uncontrolled release of asbestos dust into the workplace.
How to avoid the risks from asbestos.
In addition Technicon can tailor make courses to cover other aspects of asbestos such as the legislation surrounding asbestos, how to manage asbestos in premises and the role and requirements expected of a licensed asbestos contractor.
