Asbestos Surveys
There is a legal requirement for all non-domestic premises to have an asbestos management plan. In order to have an appropriate plan you will need to have an asbestos register complied by an asbestos surveyor.
Technicon will assist companies to comply with the current legislation.
An asbestos register will be required for any commercial premises sale.
Increasingly it is now recognised as being good practice for private property to have asbestos surveys undertaken prior to any change of ownership.
This helps to protect the interests of both the vendor and his professional advisers. There are an increasing number of cases where estate agent’s surveyors have been sued as a result of missed asbestos in domestic premises.
Technicon’s surveyors have all completed training requirements to BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society ) P 402 Certificate of Competency and more recently have applied to complete the more detailed ABICS (Asbestos Building Inspectors Certification Scheme). This scheme has been awarded UKAS accreditation. Currently this is the only scheme to certify individual surveyors.
All surveys conform to the Health & Safety Guidance Document HSG 264 (formerly MDHS100).
